Here I am at the 19th Annual Out for Blood Fun Run to benefit the Coastal Bend Blood Center last weekend.  It was held at Heritage Park and had over 400 participants.  I was there to provide some tunes and MC the awards ceremony.  A GREAT TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!

As you may know, I write the SOUND CHECK column for the Corpus Christi Caller Times and it comes out every Friday in the WEEKEND section.  This week, I review the 30th Anniversary Edition of REO Speedwagon's HI INFIDELITY. 

A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to meet lead singer Kevin Cronin, the guy who wrote many of the band's biggest hits, including "Keep On Loving You."  They did a show at Seaworld back around 1996, and here I am with Kevin backstage.

Hey, I'm back from my few days off, and on one of my vacation days I journeyed with my girlfriend Leticia Mondragon to San Antonio to see my best friends Eloy and Joel.  Before we caught up with them, Leticia and I went to Louis Tussaud's Waxworks Museum and spent time with a few celebrities...

OK, I know I haven't checked in for a while, but I have been swamped!

Anyway, all this week, my vintage vinyl selection has been the original soundtrack to A HARD DAY'S NIGHT by the BEATLES.  This is the original American pressing on United Artists Records and features some very cool instrumentals from George Martin.

One of those tracks is called "Ringo's Theme (This Boy)" and it's appropriate because our  very own Richard Starkey turned 71 this past Thursday.  Oh, and the celebration continues this Sunday at 11 as Ringo is the subject of BEATLE BRUNCH.  CHECK IT OUT!

Hot on the heels of news that Paul McCartney will play Yankee Stadium on July 15th, his two solo albums are set for reissue and will be in stores on June 14th.

I was able to snag a couple of advance copies of McCartney and McCartney II, and they are the albums I am reviewing in tomrrow's Sound Check in the Caller Times.

But I just couldn't resist getting out my vinyl copy of Paul's first solo record.  Here are a few photos...
